Recently, Russian public opinion has been shocked to learn of the terrible death of a child from Russia: A two-year-old child adopted from Russia three months ago has died after being left alone in an overheated car. It happened in the U.S. town of Herndon, where the death of Dmitry Yakovlev is likely to further complicate the already disputed issue of foreign adoption in Russia:
And that is not the only accident with Russian baby adopted by Americans! That's another video about adopted Russian kids was published just 2 month before: An American couple, who adopted a Russian baby who then died, are facing murder and child abuse charges. The 14-month-old's skull was fractured. Another Russian child, 3-year-old Kolya, who was in the care of Fyodor and Kimberly Emelyantsev was found to be exhausted and dehydrated:

I don't have any comments to this sad article... Such things what were showed in these videos and told by Marley Greiner must not exist! But they do... and that is very painful question how to live when such things still exist.
Maybe some answers we'll find in the second part of this article:
Russian Video: Adoption of Russian children! (2).

comments always welcome.
Some videos can be not available now. We are working to recover them all!

Hello...In Russia, when the adopted child turns 18, can she or he find out who the real biological mother is and contact them?
ReplyDeleteMy neice and her husband adopted 2 babies from a Moscow adoption center several years ago and are living in the States...happy and healthy, although there were some medical problems at first but all that has been corrected. My sister has 4 adopted kids from a Lutheran Social Services and their biological mothers were on drugs, etc. Now they have grown into adulthood and have good careers, healthy and families of their own. The best to you.
Hello Anonymous,
ReplyDeleteThank you for stopping by and your kind comment!
In Russia we have a law about Secrecy Adoptions that means that anybody who takes part in adoption process must keep information about adoption in secret. All information about the kid [name, surname, date and place of birth] can be changed in the adoption process...
If parents who adopted a kid choose to tell the kid about adoption... And the kid wants to find his or her biological mother... I will find out is it possible and inform you.
Best wishes,
Svet
What5 a surprise to see these videos and a mention of my blogs here! Thank you! I'll be putting up a little piece tonight on these and hopefully some people will come your way.
ReplyDeleteThe two "live" cases that I'm following now are the Harrison and Emelyantsev cases. The Harrison case has gotten a huge amount of press coverage. Miles Harrison is affluent and has hired the top criminal lawyer in Virginia. He was indicted on a charge of manslaughter last week, and is scheduled for another court appearance in August.
The Emelantsev case has gotten hardly any coverage outside of Utah It's a very strange case with no indication why the husband has been released--or exactly what is going on. Kimberly Emelyantsev pled guilty and will sentenced in August. Prosecutors say more "facts" will come out at the hearing We'll see.
As far as anyone knows, the number of Russian children killed by their adoptive parents in the US far exceeds any other national or ethnic group.
Thank you very much, Marley!
ReplyDeleteYour comment was a necessary her! We were really looking forward to hear your professional opinion!
Thank you for your job and never give up,
